Sunday with mixed feelings

Hi, Everyone!

Today was not a good way to start off the weekend as I received late night reports of harassment of some girls who had attended their friend's birthday party late night at some resort here in Mangalore. When I checked out the channel that was airing the news, I was absolutely angry with the way the girls in the video were being assaulted and slapped by strange men who claimed to be the moral police. Many onlookers, press and camera men just stood there and watched the scene playing out. How can youth from today's India, beat and batter anybody by barging into their homes or anywhere, for that matter. Who gives you the right? Why do we even talk about Indians being beaten up mercilessly abroad when we treat our own the same way? If we can't treat each other right, then how can we expect the same from other people. Remember, good manners start at home. In our own country first.

Anyway, I don't want to go into further details, am sure this will again become the national news and flash before your screens just like the last time it did in this city. It's on the same vein. You get the drift. I just feel very bad that this sort of thing is still happening in our country and we girls have always been challenged and treated badly by these criminal outfits who are not charged or jailed. On what grounds is hitting a woman acceptable? They play on our fear. It's just disgusting. Many people say it's justified and the girls deserve it. I think that's plain BS. I don't think violence is ever the answer to any problem and everyone has the right to do what they want as long as it is not harming another person. Why resort to such animalistic behaviour?

On a more lighter vein, I am not going to watch T.V. for the next week, what's the point? There will never be a solution to this problem ever. It's been going on for months and I have seen these abusers walk freely on the streets here holding their head up high and showing off like their father owns the street here. Just because women do not have the strength of a man, does not mean that you continually hit her and put her down. I am going back to the same topic, let me stop.

Changing topic, I was happy to win Rekha's( of Glitter and Gorgeous fame) contest here. It was the Super Summer Giveaway and I was so ecstatic. hehe She really made my day when she sent me these lovely gifts.
Here is a picture, I took when her parcel arrived so neatly packed and gifted.

She attached a super lovely hand-written note which warmed my heart. She placed the note in such a cute starry pouch.

The products I received were

Lakme sun expert skin lightening +De-Tan after sun Face Wash

Vaseline Light Moisturizing Lotion – Aloe and cucumber – cool & Fresh

Aaranyaa Sandalwood Anti Prickly Body Wash

And she also included a cute Simply Pretty nail polish from Avon as a surprise gift.

Thank you, Rekha, for the lovely gifts :)

Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday and let's pray for peace on earth.

Good night, girls.

I had written many times about the false morality we talk about. We talk about morality a lot ,but are among the most immoral I have ever seen. There is a perverted sense of morality and people take sadistic pleasure out of ordinary events, which otherwise would go unnoticed.People crowd in front of police stations to get a look of the prostitutes who might have been arrested. They crowd at courts to look at the girl who was molested.Never out of sympathy. But it gives them a sadistic pleasure. They touch and fondle women at every opportunity,in buses and at railway stations. There would never be a place where women would be so unsafe. We have the largest sexual crime rate in the world.Still,we talk about morality. Pathetic.

    1. Dr.Antony, it's always an honor. If only our country would improve and stop all this corruption, false morality, caste dissection and so many many other things, we can't be truly free when we are deep seated in fear for our safety and ethics.
It's true, it's the media that feeds this perversion by airing and exposing the victims in such a way, you are not sure what they are trying to prove or just feeding off something that gives everyone's eyeballs perverse pleasure. Besides airing these issues on a variety of news channels 24/7 nothing else is being done. I have heard that the girl victims in this case have been expelled and detained from taking the exams in their MBA college in mangalore. Isn't that just utterly ridiculous? SHAME!!!! I feel very bad.
